George Levi
George Elston Levi, Sr., 87, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017.
He was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, was a 50-year member Mason and was a member of Alhambra Temple, 32 degree Scottish Rite. He retired from the Navy, with 27 years, in 1973 as lieutenant commander.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Mae Levi O’Hare. George is survived by his wife, Emily Sophia Hess Levi; son, George Elston Levi, Jr. of Hixson; daughter, Charyl Lynn Levi of Sharpsburg, GA; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. with Minister Melvin Dudley officiating. Burial will be in Levi Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions be sent to Alhambra Temple, Chattanooga for the Shriners Burn Center.
