Bobby Gene Underwood, 84, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

Bobby was owner of his own construction company. As a contractor, he left his mark on all areas of Chattanooga. He served in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War, 47th Viking Infantry Division. Bobby loved the mountains and all forms of nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.   

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Janette Underwood; brother, Leon Underwood; sisters, Louise Overturf Sauls and Euverla Underwood.

Bobby is survived by his two daughters, Mavis Dean and Teresa Ray; son, Robert Underwood, all of Chattanooga.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace.

Funeral services for Bobby will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in the Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher John Deck officiating.

Interment will follow to Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
