Katherine Quinn
Katherine Quinn passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017.
Born on Sept. 27, 1929, she grew up in Highland Park in Chattanooga. She attended Chattanooga City High School and graduated from The University of Chattanooga where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
She married Robert L. Quinn on Aug. 9, in 1958. She and Bob were long-time members of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and she was a more recent member of White Oak United Methodist Church. She taught at Normal Park and Senter School for many years and later was a frequent substitute teacher at the Bright School. She enjoyed many athletic activities and participated in the Senior Olympics in basketball, softball, volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. She loved spending time with family and friends. She remained very close with her Alpha Delta Pi sisters and Bridge Club. When not with family or friends, she could commonly be found outside working in the yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her son, John Bartlett.
She is survived by her son, Robert Quinn Jr. (wife Carla), daughter-in-law, Jan Quinn, daughter, Mary Kay Fulcher (Mark), daughter, Ellen Behrends (Chris), grandchildren, Emily Thomsen, Ben Fulcher (Hannah), Margaret Quinn, Jacob Fulcher (Lindsay), Anna Behrends, Daniel Fulcher, Sarah Quinn, John Behrends and many great-grandchildren as well.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Pastor Amy Nutt officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
