Richard “Eddie” Gilreath, 68, of Chickamauga, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.
Eddie was an avid deer hunter who loved the outdoors and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Gilreath and Josie Sweet Gilreath; sisters, Betty Parker and Sherry Neal; brothers, Tommy Gilreath, Frank Gilreath, Ravin Gilreath, and Raymond Gilreath.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Surrett Gilreath; daughters, Melissa (David) Estus and Amy (Greg) Barrett; grandchildren, Brooke (Rusty) Massey, Tripp Cheatham, Tyler Barrett, Bailey Arthur, Becca Cheatham, and Madison Barrett; great grandchildren, Kenna Massey, Eli Massey, Paizley Cheatham, Ayden Barrett, Kruz Tucker, Bella Barrett, and Bryer Cheatham; sister, Lucille O’Donald; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Will Bradley officiating. Interment will be in Old Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Barry Smith, Don Smothers, Leroy Cross, Casey King, Bobby Cheatham, and Joe Arthur. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Millican and Johnny Smith.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
