New Executive Takes The Reins At MEF

The Board of Mountain Education Foundation has named Hilarie Hicks Robison as executive director.

Ms. Robison relocated to the mountain from Southern Nevada, where she had a long history of nonprofit work, including as executive director of the statewide Nevada Public Education Foundation. A third-generation native of Las Vegas, Ms. Robison graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University, later earning a master’s in ethics and policy studies. Over the last 20 years, her professional career spanned roles in government agencies, education and non-profits, including the development of award-winning programs that gained national attention.

Board Chair Sarah Bernard, along with other volunteer board members, conducted a search process that lasted approximately two months. “We are thrilled to have Ms. Robison join MEF,” said Chair Bernard. “Her background with the education foundation in Nevada makes her ideally suited to the position, and we look forward to a bright future under her leadership.”

Ms. Robison, too, is optimistic about the future in Signal Mountain.  “We have received such a warm welcome and are grateful to be here on this beautiful mountain in this remarkable community," she said.

She and her husband are the parents of two children, both of whom attend Signal Mountain public schools.

Ms. Robison replaces former Executive Director Katie Hanners, who is now the director of Development for the Creative Discovery Museum in downtown Chattanooga.
