  • Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Erlanger Health System plans to build out suites at the Heart & Lung Institute at an additional $2 million cost.

Procedures are currently provided between two floors on the campus on Third Street resulting in frequent patient moves, it was stated.

The project "seeks to provide patients and their families, physicians and staff with a dedicated Heart & Lung Institute, offering the highest level of interventional cardiology, structural heart, electrophysiology and cardiothoracic surgical procedures on the fourth floor of the Baroness campus."

The project will be funded from current year capital.

It includes the construction of four new operating rooms (three cardiothoracic suites; a hybrid operating room) adjacent to the current interventional suite, comprehensive renovation of the three cardiac cath labs, construction of a new family waiting room, as well as support spaces and renovation of common areas.
