Jean A. Janik, 68, of Signal Mountain passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born September 10, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Frank and Norma Jean McClure. 

Jean loved reading and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She attended Susquehanna University, Bowling Green University and Rider University where she earned degrees in English and Accounting. She loved her puppies, Caine, Stonewall Jackson, and MacDuff.

She is survived by her husband, John Janik; daughters, Christy L (Bill) Landis, Carrie Anne (Ken) Pfleger, and Kimberly S. (Chris) Nurko; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Picard, Taylor Nurko, Sam Pfleger, and Morgan Pfleger; brother, Frank (Kathy) McClure; and  nieces, Melissa (Jamie) Wilson and Kelly (Joe) Farace

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 5 p.m. in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Wayland Stewart officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday.

A private interment will be held later.
