Evelyn Bailey, age 91, of Summerville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, evening at a local nursing home.
A native of Chattooga County, Ga., She was born to the late Ralph and Sara Jane Dean Dover on April 14, 1926. Mrs. Bailey was retired from the forming department of Best Mfg. Company and a member of the Berryton Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Bryant “Shorty” Bailey, on June 3, 2008.
Surviving are daughters and spouses, Glenda Farrow, Jane and Steve Love, Patricia and John Jennings, Marsha Noles, and Cheri Beene; son and spouse, Jimmy and Linda Bailey; sisters, Pauline Schrader and Doris Fulton; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Lee and Rev. Gary Howell officiating, interment in Greenhills Memory Garden. Active pallbearers are Glenn Trapp, Michael Jennings, Tad Scott, Mike Shireman, William Wood, and Chase Browning; honorary pallbearers are members of the Berryton Church of God.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
