The Southern Lit Alliance will host an evening with author and retired Brigadier General Anthony Tata on Thursday, Jan. 18, 6 p.m. at the Arts Building, 301 E. 11th St.

Often compared to Tom Clancy in his writing, General Tata is regularly seen on national broadcasting channels such as Fox News, CNN, CBS and ABC for his military analysis.

A West Point graduate and recipient of the Bronze Star medal, General Tata has written eight novels including his new release, Direct Fire, a suspenseful tale of tracking a terrorist in the backyard of North Carolina.
