Lila Lee Lawson, 70, of Suck Creek, died on Friday, February 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her son, James Richard Lawson; parents, William “Bill” and Laura Mae Morgan Essex; brothers, Warren Essex and Charles Essex; and sisters, Virginia Essex and Margaret Shook.
She was a member of Kelly’s Ferry Community Church.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carl Richard Lawson; two children, Barbara (Alan) Chance of Hixson and Brittany Lawson of Jasper; two sisters, Frances Irene Austin of Dayton and Barbara Charlotte Alexander of Jasper; brother, James (Ann) Essex of Whitwell; three grandchildren, Michael Richard Lawson, Ashley Nicole Lawson and Barrett Chance; five great-grandchildren, Braelynn Nicole Morris, Ryder Richard Lawson, Carly Taylor Chance, Caleb Bryson Chance and Caden Jackson Chance; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. CST, Monday, February 20 at Kelly’s Ferry Community Church with Rev. John Pratt officiating. Interment to follow at McNabb Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. CST, Saturday, 1-8 p.m. CST, Sunday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CST, Monday at church.
Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
