Jewel Damron Mahan, 87, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

She was born in Beauty, Ky., to the late Frank and Vernie Damron but had lived many years in Ohio, Arizona, Kentucky and Tennessee. She was of the Baptist faith that always enjoyed being a part of her church, she enjoyed singing, playing her guitar and crocheting. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her.
 
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elijah Stepp, Sr., Roy Stepp, James Mahan, daughter-in-law, Sheila Stepp, and son-in-law, Earl Dyer.
 
Survivors include her children, Vernie Dyer of Chattanooga, Phyllis Lanier, (Taylor) of Elkhart, In., Paul Stepp of Eastover, SC, and Elijah Stepp, Jr. (Marlene) of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Wanda Sue Bowen, (Herman) of Warfield, KY; brothers, Arnold Damron, (Barb) of Broken Arrow, OK, Frank Damron, (Bette) of Shelby, OH, Fonzo Damron, (Helen) of Wooster, OH and Malcolm Damron, (Sylvia) of Columbus, OH; 18 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and extended family and friends.
 
The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Wilson Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Phelps & Sons Funeral Home in Inez, KY.
 
The family will receive friends on Friday after 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Inez, Ky.
