UTC Women Down Jacksonville State 6-1

  • Saturday, February 25, 2017
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team scored a 6-1 win at Jacksonville State today.  The Mocs improved to 8-3 on the year with the non-conference victory.

"It was a great win today," stated UTC head coach Chad Camper.  "We faced some windy conditions and it made the match a battle.  I am proud of our fight and I look forward to our match tomorrow."

JSU only had four active players, which gave UTC a 3-0 lead before play began.
Junior Samantha Caswell and sophomore Delaney Edwards secured the doubles point with a 6-1 win at No. 1.

The Mocs took three of the four contested singles matches, beginning with Edwards' win at No. 2.  Sophomores Carolina Hall and Sydney Patton rounded out the team scoring with wins at No. 3 and No. 4.

Chattanooga returns home tomorrow for an afternoon match against MTSU. First serve is 2:00 p.m. at the Baylor Courts.  A link for live scoring is available on the women's tennis schedule page on Gomocs.com.
