Local author Christopher-Charles Chaney’s latest book has been named one of the top eight caregiving books in 2017  – just in time for National Caregiving Day on Feb. 17.

The caregiving journey of Christopher-Charles Chaney with his mother, Odessa Chaney or Mama Peaches, drew attention from social media audiences across the country after Christopher posted what he thought was just a single Mama Peaches story on Facebook. Weeks later, Facebook fans couldn’t get enough of the Mama Peaches stories. Almost a year later and at the repeated requests of the Mama Peaches fans, Christopher-Charles has written a "powerfully funny and compelling" book not only for those who enjoy old-school wit and wisdom but for the accidental or experienced family caregivers as well.

There are over 65 million family caregivers in the U.S. today, and there’s a need to share information and resources with these caregivers to help them on their journey.  Mr. Chaney writes about what it means to love and care for an aging parent. Combining personal stories and no-nonsense advice with humor, this book is like having a close friend to support those caring for an aging parent, disabled spouse and other loved ones, said officials.

Here’s what Mr. Chaney says readers can expect from the first book in the Mama Peaches reading series:

Wit, wisdom, and a whole lot of laughter
Inspiration and empowerment to revive your spirit
Critical survival tips every family care provider must know
Caregiver’s Prayer Toolbox
Must-have caregiving resources to save time, energy, and money
Strategies to minimize stress, burn-out, depression, and guilt more.

Mama Peaches and Me is available in paperback and as a Kindle e-book on www.amazon.com,  www.barenesandnoble.com or www.authorchristopher.com.
