Lee Baseball Adjusts Schedule In Preparation For Rainy Weekend

Due to the forecast for rain moving back into the local area on Saturday evening and a 90 percent chance on Sunday, the Lee baseball and softball three-game Gulf South Conference series with Valdosta State University will now be played on Friday and Saturday.

 

The Flames and Blazers will play a doubleheader on Friday scheduled for a 2 p.m. opening pitch on Olympic Field.

The single nine-inning game will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Valdosta State currently stands in a three-way tie for fourth place with West Florida and West Alabama at 9-6 in the GSC standings. The Flames hold down the seventh spot at 8-7.


 

The Valdosta State softball club (13-2) is in command of first place in the conference standings. The Lady Flames are in a logjam for fourth place with North Alabama and Mississippi College – all holding a 9-6 mark.

 

Friday’s softball action will find the Lady Flames taking Butler Field at 2 p.m. for the twin bill. The single seven-inning finale will follow on Saturdayat 1.
