David Carlton, 64, passed away on March 22, 2017.

David was born on Jan. 24, 1953. David graduated from City High School in 1971 where he was a great baseball player. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee. He retired from Dalton College where he had served many years in maintenance and landscape. David enjoyed music and sports and working outdoors. He was saved and baptized at Memorial Baptist Church (now called The Gathering). David will be missed by family and friend but today all those rejoice due to the truth of the scriptures “Absent from the body, present with God.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arle and Lorean Carlton, of Chattanooga.

David is survived by his sister, Paula Smith and niece and nephew, Abbey and Andy Smith. David was affectionately referred to by all his family as “Uncle Dave” and adored particularly, his young grand nephews and nieces Avery, Ava and Anni.

In lieu of flowers, you may send memorial gifts to YMCA YCAP, 1600 Central Ave., Chattanooga, Tennessee 37408.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow directly after at 2 p.m. in funeral home chapel, with Tommy Gooden officiating.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
