Bryan Opportunity Scholarship Program Surpasses $2 Million In Donations

  • Friday, April 28, 2017

Bryan College announced that its Bryan Opportunity Scholarship Program has now surpassed more than $2 million in donations throughout the program’s 10-year history.

Established in 2008, the program seeks to raise funds to provide qualified, low-income students from Tennessee with scholarships to attend Bryan College. To date, more than 200 students have benefited from Bryan Opportunity Scholarships, which vary in amount depending on each student’s need.

“We are so grateful for the men, women, and organizations that God is using to provide the means for these students to become both academically and spiritually prepared to go out into the world and make a difference,” said Janice Pendergrass, Director of Advancement at Bryan College.

“Students that were afraid to dream of coming to a private Christian college are being blessed beyond imagination to do just that.”

Each year, the Bryan Opportunity Scholarship Program hosts a fundraising dinner that highlights Bryan students making an impact on campus, thanks in part to the scholarships they receive and the generosity of others. This year, current junior Cullen Royston shared his testimony and how this program has impacted his life.

“I am grateful to those who have given financially, and it is moving to see the hearts of those who genuinely care about providing a way for me to further my education at Bryan College and fulfill my plans of attending pharmacy school after graduation,” Royston said. “This scholarship has opened many doors for me, and I am looking forward to one day sitting in one of these seats as a donor.”

If you are interested in donating to the Bryan Opportunity Scholarship Program, gifts may be mailed to: Bryan Opportunity Scholarship Program, 721 Bryan Drive; Dayton, TN; 37321. Donations can also be made online at www.bryan.edu/donate. Donors should select Bryan Opportunity Scholarship Program from the drop-down fund list.

“We greatly appreciate the generosity of everyone who has given to this program and investing in our students and the mission of Bryan College,” said Chuck Baker, Vice President of Advancement. “As we look towards the future, it’s our vision to increase our capacity to provide students the opportunities and resources to make a difference for Christ in today’s world.”
