Hicks, Lerlene Windham

Lerlene Windham Hicks, 91, of Red Bank, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

After retirement, Lerlene moved to the Chattanooga area from Lebanon, Tn. She quickly joined Burks United Methodist Church and made many friends and enjoyed participating in various activities at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. and Bettie A. Cook, her first husband, James A. Windham, oldest son, James B. Windham and her first grandchild, James Christopher Windham.

Survivors include her husband, William Hicks, his daughter, Diane (Randy) Walker of Red Bank, son, Ronald (Linda) Windham of Columbia, SC, daughter, Saundra (Larry) Sharpe of Soddy Daisy and daughter-in-law Martha Windham of Jackson, Ms. Other survivors include granddaughters, Michelle (John) Lieu of Lakeville, Mn., Cheryl (Michael) Messick of Lexington, Kentucky, grandsons, Steven (Lindsey) Sharpe of Chattanooga and Michael Sharpe of Soddy Daisy. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 3, at Burks United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Ministry at Burks United Methodist Church.
