Sue Shepherd
Sue Shepherd, 80, of Hixson, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
Sue was born in Fayette, AL, on April 20, 1937, to the late William and Roberta Babb. She married James in 1953; they raised three children and lived in Davenport, Ia., for 46 years. She sold Stanley for 50 years, volunteered in nursing homes for 40 years, was a member of the Ministry Center and was actively involved in Ladies Ministries and taught Sunday School within the Church of God. They moved to Hixson, in 2000, where she most enjoyed spending time with family, church, and traveling the world on cruises.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James, brothers, Herbert and LaVerne Babb, and sisters, Billie Carey and Nell Babb.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Longobardi (Gene) of Hixson, Patricia Flaherty (Pat) of Moline, IL, son, Philip Shepherd (Kim) of Hixson, grandchildren, Katrina (Eric), Brandon, Aimee (Ryan), Jake (Meghan), Sydney, great-grandchildren, Isabella, Amelia, Sophia, Lily, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 30, at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jim Milligan and Reverend Jimmy Talley officiating. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
