Wanda Sue Overton Rittenhouse, 75, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Mom was one of the best, a rare breed of woman who chose to be a business owner and she did it very well. From gas stations to restaurants and to even a bar. One thing I remember my mom telling me, "In business you have to treat people right". That was the way she did in business and in life. She was a giving soul, always helping someone out from a benefit cookout for a person she had met to a donation jar setup on the bar to raise money for someone in need. I will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Mary Louis Sneed; children, Jack Thomas and Kimberly Gail Thomas.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Rittenhouse; son, John (Susan) Thomas; six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life event will be planed soon for her many friends. The family will keep her Facebook up to post details.

In lieu of flowers and if you feel the need, a donation can be made to The American Cancer Society in her name. https://donate3.cancer.org/. But if you truly know my mom, she would prefer you to raise a glass and give her a farewell toast.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home - Fort Oglethorpe.
