Robert Matieson
Robert "Mat" John Mathieson, 53, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away suddenly as the result of a heart attack on September 13, 2017, while on a teaching assignment in Oswego, New York.
Mat was born in Bridgeport, Ct., but was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga.
Mat was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Jessie Mathieson of Aberdeen, Scotland and Bert and Frances Riith of Greenwich, Ct.
Mat is survived by his parents, Frances M. and Robert U. Mathieson; former wife, Tracy, mother of son, Justin R., and daughters, Trisha and Sasha.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 5-8 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hixson High School, Wrestling department.
