Scottish Highland Games In Dayton To Be Held Saturday

The first annual Campbell Memorial Scottish Highland Games will take place this weekend, September 23 and 24 at the David Campbell Memorial Park. The park is on Highway 30 in Rhea County, just a few miles north of Dayton.

Scottish clans will be there to help research possible family ties.  Bagpipes and drums, Scottish Highland Dancers and Scottish food and baked goods will be part of the weekend.

Highland games will include the caber toss, weight throw and sheaf toss.  Scottish merchandise such as kilts, sporrans and leather goods will be available.

The gates open at 9 a.m. and the games end at 5 p.m. both days. Cost of entry is $12.
