The Police vs. Preachers Basketball Game will be held Saturday at Pringle Park.

It will be a community celebration of the work and dedication that went into refurbishing Pringle Park and its basketball court.

The improvements and cleanup began in April and stemmed from a collaborative effort between Chattanooga Police officers, city of Chattanooga's Public Works Parks Division, and community members living in the area.

Students from nearby schools will compete in a free throw contest and 3-point shootout prior to the game. This is an opportunity for young people in Chattanooga to see that police and preachers are members of their community who enjoy some of the same things as them and their neighbors, said officials.

The celebration is free and open to all and will be held form 4-9 p.m .

Pringle Park is at 2600 Long St.
