For 2nd Time In A Week, Students Get Ill After Ingesting Substance At School; Charges Filed In Brainerd High Incident

For the second week in a row, some Hamilton County students have become ill after ingesting a substance that someone brought to school.

The first incident happened last Wednesday when five Brainerd High School students had been taken to the hospital. Charges have been filed on the juvenile who distributed a still to be determined substance. The juvenile is charged with four counts of reckless endangerment.

This Wednesday, four students at Central High School became sick.

Officials said they ingested some substance that someone brought to school.

The Chattanooga Police Department is investigating, as well as the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.
