Mitchell Taylor Horton
A 28-year-old man charged with losing control of his vehicle and killing a man who was doing yard work at Chickamauga, Ga., has pleaded guilty.
Authorities said Mitchell Taylor Horton drove through a fence and two driveways before striking 58-year-old Horace Cribbs in the incident in January.
The Hyundai Sonata used in the incident was found behind a home on Kristen Drive. It was wrapped in a tarp.
Horton has past drug charges in Walker and Hamilton County.
The vehicle was located after a tip was reported to Walker 911. The home owner reported finding the vehicle.
Officers later caught Horton in Hamilton County, and extradited him to Walker County.
He pleaded guilty to felony homicide by vehicle, leaving the scene, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and driving too fast for conditions.
Horton was originally set for trial on Nov. 26.
