Criminal Illegals And Political Lip Service

  • Tuesday, November 20, 2018

In 2013 the Chattanoogan posted an article about an illegal immigrant that had been arrested for his 3rd DUI offense. At the time, I though how could an illegal immigrant even be in this country after a first DUI arrest, let alone a second, and then a third?

This disturbed me to the point that I wrote to Rep. Chuck Fleischmann and Senator Bob Corker to ask the question of how this was even possible and what is being done so that illegals that have proven to pose a threat to our citizens are being removed from this country. The response I received was exactly what you would expect from a politician, lip service.

In the 2013 article, Prosecutor Bates Bryan pointed to a new Tennessee law that would allow for the deportation of Prisilian Roblero Solis (the illegal immigrant). Judge Poole sentenced Mr. Solis to serve a minimum of 120 days of a workhouse term of 11 months and 29 days. It was assumed that Mr. Solis would then be deported back to Mexico.

So here we are, some five years later, and I decided to do a little follow up on the original article. I wanted to know if Mr. Solis was actually deported, as Prosecutor Bryan stated. I don't have access to deportation records so I don't actually know if Mr. Solis was deported or not. I'm making the assumption that he was since he is currently serving an 18 month sentence for illegal re-entry but not before he was again arrested in 2014 for domestic violence, then again in 2017 for his fourth DUI.

This isn't something that is happening in liberal California or some other "sanctuary" city. This is just one example of what is happening right here in Chattanooga and putting my family and yours at completely unnecessary risk.

Enough is enough. Get these criminal illegals out of our country and secure the border to keep them out.
