Arts At Erlanger Brings Musical Performances To Baroness Hospital

Arts at Erlanger invites patients, patient families, staff and visitors to performances by Grace Notes and the Chattanooga Christian School High School Choral Ensemble on Nov. 14 beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Erlanger Medical Mall.

 

Grace Notes, a music trio with flute, guitar, and percussion, was formed in March of 2017 as an outreach ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Group leader and flautist Sandy Morris, guitarist Al Varnell, and percussionist Gae Varnell will a variety of music selections including Thanksgiving music, hymns and selections from the 30s to 70s. Ms. Morris is currently the conductor of the Chattanooga Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the UTC Symphony Orchestra, assistant conductor for the Chattanooga Community Orchestra and Chattanooga Area Flute Society as well as music director for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The Varnells, who have been playing music for over 60 years, both have performed at the Signal Mountain Playhouse and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Orchestra to name a few. Grace Notes will perform in the breezeway between Erlanger Baroness Hospital and Erlanger Medical Mall beginning at 11:30 a.m.

 

Chattanooga Christian School High School Choral Ensemble will perform at 12:30 p.m. in the Erlanger Medical Mall on the same day. The 32 student singers, ranging from grades 10 to 12, will be performing a show titled “Christmas Time is Here”. The choral ensemble is under the direction of Paul Faulkner, who has been directing the Upper School choirs for over 16 years with over 40 years’ experience directing both high school and collegiate choirs in both Tennessee and Florida.
