Nathaniel “Nip” Featherstone, 68, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, in a local hospital. 

He graduated from Riverside High School then continued his education at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. Nathaniel served in the U.S. Air Force as a missile technician. He worked for Combustion Engineering Company, Fairyland Lookout Mountain Club as a Maitre-d, and other companies before retiring. He attended Wesley Chapel under the leadership of Reverend H.H. Wright and the present minister. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Geneva Featherstone; five sisters; two brothers.

Survivors include his sisters, Charlotte Alderson of Chattanooga and Fannie Cartwright of Detroit, Mi.; brothers, Sterling Featherstone and Stanley (Robbie) Featherstone of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Christine Featherstone of Portsmouth, Va.; honorary son, Jimmy Redman; a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 16, from 5-6 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Monday, Dec. 17, at noon in the chapel.  

Burial will be on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
