MoParty Picnic Raises $10,000 For Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation

  • Tuesday, December 11, 2018

Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation leaders received a $10,000 donation from Ken Meredith, organizer of the Southeast MoParty Picnic.

The donation came from the proceeds of the May 2018 picnic and drag racing event sponsored by Byrd’s Automotive, Crown Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT Chattanooga and Locke Sign Company. These funds will support the GCCCF’s mission to increase local awareness of colorectal cancer and improve access to screenings.

“We are so grateful for Ken and the MoParty team’s support of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness of colon cancer, which remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in our region,” said Kayse Rigsby, GCCCF executive director. “This donation will help us spread the knowledge that this disease is preventable, treatable and beatable – and that colonoscopies save lives.”

This marks the third year that the MoParty Picnic has benefited GCCCF.

“The fight against colon cancer has a special place in my heart – like many in our area, my family has felt the impact of this disease,” said Mr. Meredith. “We are pleased to be able to continue our support for the excellent work of the GCCCF.”
