A new concert venue, The Signal, is getting ready to open at 1810 Chestnut St. in the previous location of the jump park. This is the third music venue that has been opened by JRFMTN, LLC; the others are in Nashville and Kansas City.

The building will have the capacity of 1,005 for large events, but owner Joshua Billue said the size of events will vary from small to large for all kinds of concerts. The company is experienced in handling alcohol sales and employs Access Security for events, the same company that provides security for Bonnaroo.

Everyone is ID’d at the door where both hands are stamped with permanent ink. Those under 21 will be marked with large X’s. There are also guards stationed and roaming to monitor the crowds and make sure people do not pass drinks to minors.

The Signal will be a non-smoking facility.
