John Quincy Adams, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.
Quincy, the only child of Viola Coverson Adams and L.A. Adams, was born on July 18, 1935 in Houston, Texas.
Quincy was predeceased by his parents; two very special cousins, Eddie Lorraine Dennis and Geraldine (Jerry) Francis; and the love of his life, Lydia SindosAdams, his wife of nearly 59 years.
Quincy is lovingly remembered by his son, Roger Q. Mayes(Yolanda); daughter, Donna Bobb-Semple (Keith); sons, John S. Adams (Annette), Michael D. Adams (Cherita); grandchildren, Angela, John Jr. (Tiffany), Justin, John Stephen (Trisha), Gentry (Juliane), Jessika, Jeremy (Marlo), Jarrod (Porche’), Charis (Mason), Tylar, Joshua, Jolie, Dallen; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kai, Kameron, Elijah; sister-in-law, Betty Duhe’; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3777 Wilcox Boulevard, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m.
A private interment at Chattanooga National Cemetery will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
