Rotary Club of Chattanooga Hamilton Place Visits 911 Call Center

The Rotary Club of Chattanooga Hamilton Place had an offsite meeting and visited the 911 Hamilton County Emergency Communications District call center.

John Stuermer, executive director of the 911 call center, led the tour and provided the history and statistics of the call center.

Members learned: Tthe 911 call center accepts 1,500-2,000 calls per day and answers the calls within 4 seconds;  the employees complete an 11-month extensive training in order to be appropriately prepared to respond to the various scenarios received in the calls; the emergency communications call center is the hub of information for responders and the services they offer; and they utilize current technology available and plan to implement Pulse Point beginning on Monday. 

"We all walked away impressed and thankful for the services, hard work and efficiency of this Hamilton County 911 emergency communications call center," a Rotary member said.
