Roy, I love you but on this issue you are wrong. Very wrong. You miss or avoid the only point that really matters for Tennessee and the country. This is not about Republicans or the Republican Party. This is about a Populist President who faces the most egregious opposition from the Democratic Party in the history of the Republic.
President Trump is attempting to execute his Constitutional duties with the Democratic Party in full "resistance / lock down" and impeachment mode. In the Senate, Democrat Chuck Schumer rules over his Democratic Caucus with a steel fist. If Democratic Senators do not vote in block -- every one of them -- to oppose every bill, nominee, or action which the President favors, Schumer repudiates and bans them from all Democratic activities and processes.
Even the so called moderate West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin voted "no" for the recent Tax Cut and Jobs Act after being ordered to do so by Schumer. So, in a state which was carried by President Trump by over 40 percentage points -- the largest state majority of victory in the nation -- Manchin still voted "no" on a very popular tax cut bill because Schumer demanded it. Bredesen will do the same thing. If elected, Bredesen will have to always vote against Trump or Schumer will have his office moved to a pup tent on the back lawn of the Capital Building. Bredesen won't vote for the people of Tennessee any more than Manchin votes for the people of West Virginia.
Because of all this, our Populist President must rely on the Republican Party only to get the votes he needs to govern. He gets zero -- zero -- support from the Democrats. If the Democrats take control of the Senate with Bredesen being the deciding vote, the current Republican majority on which the President depends will be gone. Trump's ability to move American back to the political center and away from Obama's march to socialism will by stymied -- totally. So, a vote for Bredesen will be a vote against Trump's agenda for America. If you want more of Obama, vote for Bredesen. You will get it. If you want to make America Great Again and stop the march to Socialism, vote for the Tennessee Republican Senatorial candidate, whoever it may be. Do not vote for Bredesen. That's the only way Trump can stop the Obama march to socialism. Sorry Roy, you are wrong on this one.
