green|spaces And Northside Neighborhood House Partner On Clothing Swap Party

  • Thursday, May 10, 2018

Women from across Chattanooga are invited to join green|spaces and Northside Neighborhood House for “Swap ’Til You Drop" on Tuesday, May 22.

Guests are asked to bring at least three items of clothing, shoes, jewelry or bags in good condition and a bottle of wine to share for the party. Upon arrival guests, are asked to place their items in the designated areas and wait for further instructions.

"Beyond being economical, eco-friendly, and an excuse to clean out your closet, a swap party with friends is far more fun than a yard sale with strangers,” said Dawn Hjelseth, director of Development at green|spaces. “You never know what you are going to find at swap parties. Guests often bring a majority of their wardrobe and go home with a whole new one.”

In addition to the swap, guests will have a chance to win fun door prizes like $25 gift cards to the Northside Neighborhood House Thrift Stores.

Any unclaimed items will be donated to the Northside Neighborhood House following the event.

"We are excited to partner with green|spaces for this fun swap event," said Brianne Lalor, chief development officer for the Northside Neighborhood House. "Our three thrift stores provide over half the revenue for our programs that help move neighbors toward self sufficiency and stability."

The NNH has three thrift locations: one in North Chattanooga, Red Bank and Soddy Daisy. They accept donations Monday through Saturday at all three locations. They also offer furniture donation pickups, and you can call 267-2217 to schedule a pickup. Any items donated to the NNH that can't be sold due to condition are recycled.

Swap 'Til You Drop will be held Tuesday, May 22, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at green|spaces, 63 E. Main St. The event is for women, ages 21+.  For more information visit the Facebook page.
