Robert B. Burris, 80, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Robert was a native of Chattanooga, born on April 3, 1938, to the late Ike and Elsie M. Burris. He was a retired lieutenant with the Chattanooga Fire Department with 25 years service as a firefighter. He was a 32nd Degree Shriner, member of the Alhambra Shrine Temple, Chattanooga, Ridgedale Lodge 660, and Chattanooga Scottish Rite Society.
Robert was dad to Jennifer Burris, Bobby Burris, and Matthew Burris (Dianna); pops to Brayden Robbins; brother to Fred Burris (Janice) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 25, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in lieu of flowers.
