Robert Henderson, 81, was born April 4, 1937, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He was the of three sons born to the late William and Alice Henderson. He passed from this life into eternity on June 11, 2018.
Robert graduated from Howard High School in 1955 and attended Tennessee State University. He retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority and was a U. S. Army veteran.
Robert, a man of few words, helped many people during his lifetime and even cared for his mother although his health was failing.
Robert was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn and brother, Howard.
He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Darius Henderson, two grandsons, Britton and Darian Henderson, Chattanooga; brother, Roland (Irene) Henderson, White Plains, NY; great-aunt, Mildred Brown, Gainesville, Ga.; stepdaughters, Kathy White and Cassandra Cooper; cousins, Barry Simpson, Jocelyn (Catlett) Harrison, god-sister, Barbara Lindsey (Wilbert) Roberts, Chattanooga; family friend, Marilyn Payton, University, Il.; friend, Elsie Cardell, Chicago, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, June 22, at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 2305 E. 3rd Street, Chattanooga.
Interment will be in the National Cemetery. A repast will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Robert Henderson to the Alice Bush Henderson Children’s Support Fund of Second Missionary Baptist Church.
