Adult Education Moving To Chattanooga State On July 2

  • Wednesday, June 20, 2018

The TCAT Athens Adult Education program in Hamilton County will be moving the James A. Henry office to the main campus of Chattanooga State Community College on Amnicola Highway. Adult Education offices and classrooms will be located on the second floor of the Center for Business, Industry and Health (CBIH) building.

“Adult Education provides critical educational opportunities for our community and it makes sense to have it at ChattState.

We look forward to supporting their efforts to increase educational attainment in Hamilton County and to increase our educated labor pool,” said Bo Drake, vice president of Economic Workforce Development at Chattanooga State.

TCAT Athens Adult Education will continue to offer services at all other currently existing locations in Hamilton County, but will close the James A. Henry site at the end of the business day on Tuesday, June 26, in order to relocate to Chattanooga State. They will re-open at the new location on Monday, July 2. Class schedules and the phone number will remain the same as they were at the James A. Henry site.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to be closer and more familiar with the multitude of post-secondary education services at Chattanooga State Community College. We are very excited to be on this beautiful campus with so many opportunities for our students,” said Leslie Travis, district coordinator of Southeast Tennessee Adult Education.

“We are pleased to be working with Chattanooga State in providing Adult Education services to the community. The leadership team at Chattanooga State have been tremendous in helping us secure this facility. Without Chattanooga State, our ability to offer these services would have been significantly restricted,” said Stewart Smith, president of TCAT Athens.
