Jon Alan Carter, 60, of Chattanooga, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.    

He was born Sept. 3, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Robert and Toni Zaper Carter.

Jon received a Computer Science degree from the University of Toledo.  He was employed with Unum Corporation. 

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he served in the AWANA program for many years. 

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Pam Patrick Carter; children, Alex (MacKenzie) Carter of Hixson, Scott Carter and Rachel Carter of Chattanooga; and one grandson, Logan Carter of Hixson.

A memorial service will be held on June 30, at 11 a.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Pastor Ben Graham and Pastor Kelly O’Rear officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions may be made to Grace Athletic Center of Grace Academy, 7815 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
