Brown, Clarence Edwin

Clarence Edwin Brown, 98, of Fort Oglethorpe, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia, a former member of Cloud Springs Baptist Church and presently a member of Westside Baptist Church. Between the two churches, he served in numerous capacities, and was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon for over 50 years. Clarence was a WWII Navy vet, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Aaron Brown and Eva Viola Brown; wife of 77 years, Dorothy L. Brown; brothers, LeRoy Brown and Don Brown; and sister, Sue Konertz.

Clarence is survived by his son, Mike (Pat) Brown, of Flintstone; brother-in-law, Marvin Konertz; sister-in-law, June Brown; grandson, Pastor Jeff (Belinda) Brown, of Chickamauga; great-grandson, Colton Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Rosewood Assisted Living, NHC Fort Oglethorpe and Hospice of Chattanooga.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be held 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24 at Westside Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Moore and Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park
