Annie Greene
Annie Louella Billingslea Greene, 96, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, departed this life on Friday, June 22, 2018, at home surrounded by family.
She taught and served as principal at several schools in Hamilton County and Chattanooga Public School Systems. She was a faithful member of Joseph Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served as the organist for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 70 years, Amos L. Greene; sister, Ruth Talley Ramsey; grandson, Mychael J. Greene; and Keith Hudgins, whom she and her husband raised.
Survivors include her son, Michael “Tony” (Sylvia) Greene of Chattanooga; children she raised, David Hudgins of Chattanooga and Cheryl “Treva” Jackson of Tampa, Fl.; grandchildren, Donessa (Jeff) Fletcher, Staysha Greene, Nikita (Danielle) Hudgins, Jalen Jackson, Cory Jackson all of Tampa, Fl.; sister-in-law, Mary Greene of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation is on Saturday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Judge John McClarty as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday, July 2, at 11 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
