Parkridge East Hospital will host a NICU reunion Saturday, Aug. 18, from 9-11 a.m. The carnival-themed event will celebrate the families who received care from their level III NICU.
“The babies we treat in our NICU are born prematurely – some as early as 24 weeks – or newborns that require special care,” said Christina Chadwick, director of the Parkridge East NICU. “We forge a strong bond with our tiniest patients and their families during the course of their stay and we eagerly look forward to catching up with them at the reunion.”
The NICU Reunion will feature a variety of games and snacks, a bouncy house and a dunk tank.
The Chattanooga Zoo will provide an educational presentation about the zoo with a few small animals to show. Providers from Puckett EMS and the East Ridge Fire Department will give tours of an ambulance and a fire truck.
“We provide healthcare to families in our area during what is likely the most trying time of their lives, and we are thrilled to host an event where everyone can have fun and give thanks,” said Jarrett Millsaps, CEO of Parkridge East. “Nurturing babies who require complex care requires a coordinated team. This reunion not only celebrates the families for whom we have provided care, but it also honors the providers who kept careful watch at their bedsides.”
Families who have received care from the Parkridge East NICU may register for the NICU Reunion at
