Frances McGee
Frances McGee, 73 departed this earthly life, surrounded by family, on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
Frances was born on June 26, 1945, in Chattanooga, to the late Henry and Lizzie Mae Collins, Sr.
She had been employed by the John P. Franklin Funeral Home, until her health failed. Frances was a faithful member of the New Home Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George McGee Jr.; two brothers, Henry Collins Jr. and James Collins; and devoted companion, Eugene Hartsfield.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two daughters, Betty Collins (Edward) Hickey of Atlanta, and Kimberly Collins (Michael) Walker of Montgomery, Al.; devoted nephew, Ronald D. McGee; sisters, Fannie Mason, Elizabeth Crum, Christine Graham and Margie Collins; three great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.
The body will lie in state at noon on Thursday, Aug. 23, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
There will be a life celebration on Friday, Aug. 24, at noon at the New Home Baptist Church, 2809 13th Avenue, Chattanooga, with Elder G.M. Spotts as pastor.
