The Dalton State Women's Cross Country team traveled to Kentucky to compete with four other schools. For the second week in a row the Roadrunners finished as runner-up, this time to Cumberland (Tenn.) in the Tiger Invitational at Green River Lake State Park in Campbellsville, Ky. on Saturday

RECAP
Finishing first for the third week in a row was sophomore Kay Vradenburgh who finished 6th overall.

Just a few seconds back in seventh was freshman Rachel Ward who seems to get stronger every week. Less than 30 seconds behind Ward were freshman Sabrina Young, junior Hayley Hight, and freshman Reagan Guess in 13th, 14th, and 15th place overall. The Roadrunners finished with freshman Alex Gass, sophomore Morgan King, and sophomore Jen Rivera coming in not too far behind the top five.

"The ladies competed hard today," said coach Dean Thompson.  "Our goal today was to come out and fight for every place and run as hard as we could.  We accomplished that goal.  This was our best meet of the year so far.  It was good to see the spread from number one to number five decrease by a full minute.  We're scheduled for some much-needed rest next week before we compete again.  I think it will regenerate the ladies and they will be even stronger next meet, just in time to compete against some of the strongest teams from our conference."
