Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 4131 Ringgold Road in East Ridge, will host
their first Service & Honor Sunday on Sept. 30. At the 10:30 a.m. Worship Celebration, the church will honor guests: first responders, educators, civil servants, military, medical providers and community workers. A dinner will follow.
The guest speaker, a retired military officer, has spoken to thousands on five different continents, traveled in 24 countries, and is a descendant of WWI hero, Alvin C.

"The church wanted to host a worship celebration to honor those in our community who serve, many times without much thanks. Following the biblical injunction to "Give Honor To Whom Honor Is Due," the church planned this event. Those who serve their community in any way are urged to attend," officials said.
