Over 13,000 "In God We Trust" License Plates Sold In 2018

  • Wednesday, January 2, 2019

Over 13,000 special Tennessee license plates were issued in 2018.

County Clerk Bill Knowles said, “During the past year 13,091 vehicle owners requested the special ‘In God We Trust’  license plate. 2018 was the first complete year of issuance since the new plate was created by the state legislature in July 2017."

Tennessee’s registration law enables motorists to request the special plate for a one-time additional $2.00 fee.

It can be obtained when renewing a current registration, making application for a vehicle title, or swapping an existing tag.”
