The Baylor girls soccer team hosted Chattanooga Christian School in a region soccer match for 3rd place and a chance to move on to a play-in game for the state tournament. Baylor prevailed with the 5-2 win.
Five goals were scored in the first half with Baylor coming out on top 3-2.
At the 10th minute, Bella White (Baylor) scored off a shot from 18 yards out.
At the 13th minute, Laura Beth Turner (CCS) scored off a breakway to tie it at 1-1.
At the 21st minute, Aliya Cooper (Baylor) scored off a Bella White pass.
At the 23rd minute, Melissa Oliveira scored off a free kick.
At the 38th minute, Laura Beth Turner (CCS) scored off a Ansley McGlockin assist.
It was 3-2 at half-time.
At the 56th minute, Melissa Oliveira (Baylor) scored off a long shot to make it 4-2,
At the 63rd minute, Sophia Mead (Baylor) scored off a rebound to finish out the scoring at 5-2.
"I thought we played very well at moments but must still be consistent for 80 minutes," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "We really settled in the second half and created some great chances."
Baylor out shot CCS 16-10. Addison Yelton had seven saves for Baylor and Allie Hamel had 10 for CCS.
CCS ends their season at 6-10. Baylor advances to the next round with an 8-7-3.
