Man And His Pets Escape House Fire In East Lake Early Saturday Morning

A Chattanooga man and his pets safely escaped a house fire in East Lake early Saturday morning.

 

It happened just after midnight in the 3900 block of 17th Avenue.

 

The fire appears to have started in the laundry area of the home, according to responding fire officials. 

 

The resident evacuated with his pets and called 911.  There were no injuries and Red Cross was contacted for assistance.

 

Responding companies were Engine 9, Engine 5, Ladder 5, Quint 14, Squad 1, Battalion 1 and a squad from East Ridge.  HCEMS and CPD also responded.
