Charles R. Franer, 80, of East Ridge passed away at his home.
He was born to Frank X. and Minnie Catherine Schmissrauder Franer on December 9, 1939. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mr. Franer grew up in Chattanooga and attended Notre Dame High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Franer had worked with his father and brother at the Frank Franer Steel Company and then as a layout man at Brock & Blevins Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank X Franer, Jr.; nephew, Frank X. Franer, III
Survivors include his cousin, Adele Baker of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Carole Franer of Winfield, MO; nieces, Catherine Miller of Godfrey, Il and Carole Dillingham of Winfield, MO; nephew, Robert Lee Franer of O’Fallen, MO; niece, Laura Fehmel of Florissant, MO.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge.
