U.S. Army Veteran Retired From Westinghouse Electric

Randy Tate, 67, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1951, to the late Alfred and Anna Belle Tate.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug, Charles and Meredith Tate.

Randy was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He served as staff sergeant and first cook in the Army National Guard and was a recipient of the Marksman Rifleman’s Badge. Later he retired as quality control engineer with Westinghouse Electric.

He had a great love for cooking, grilling, world traveling, his family and friends. Randy was an avid slow pitch men’s softball player for various leagues.

Survivors include the love of his life, Judy Tate, daughters, Tabitha (Chris) Mitchell, Tonya (Jamie) Wilkey and Tamara (Mikel) Fairfax, all of Chattanooga, Tennessee, grandchildren, Ashlen, Corbin, Hagen, Madox and Britton, sister, Wanda Jones and several nieces and nephews.    

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, and 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Lanny Tate and Garon Tate officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
