SAU’s Percussion Ensemble To Perform With Special Guest Shane Jones

Southern Adventist University’s School of Music invites the community to a performance by its Percussion Ensemble, with special guest Shane Jones, DMA on Sunday, March 24, 7:30 p.m. at SAU's Ackerman Auditorium in Mable Wood Hall, Collegedale.

Under the direction of Richard Henson, adjunct professor of music at Southern, the concert will feature musical selections by Hans-Gunter Broadmann, Christopher Deane, Eckhard Kopetzki, Steve Snowden, and Ivan Trevino. This event is free and open to the public.  
 
Jones, director of percussion studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin, is a seasoned performer and world traveler.

In addition to such highlights as performing on Broadway as percussionist for the musical 1776, his skills have taken him around the globe, including Brazil, China, Puerto Rico and West Africa.
