Soddy-Daisy’s Sierrah Lemons signed a volleyball scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University on Friday at the high school.

Lemons helped the Lady Trojans to a second-place finish in District 6-3A this past season and their season ended with a loss to Cleveland in the Region 3-3A tournament at Cookeville.

As a senior, Lemons was selected to all-district and district tournament teams while earning the all-district MVP and Soddy-Daisy MVP. She was named to the all-region team.

Lemons was awarded the Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame’s Jim Morgan/Morris award of achievement for overcoming life’s obstacles and taking on challenges others would not attempt.

The Lady Trojans’ standout recorded 761 kills, 18 assists, 122 blocks, 133 digs and 37 aces in her high school career, according to coach Libby Peigen.

LMU’s Lady Railsplitters went 20-10 and advanced to the South Atlantic Conference tournament title game before losing to USC-Aiken of the Peach Belt Conference in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional.

Two Chattanooga-area players were on the 2018 LMU roster – Notre Dame’s Kaylee Stone and Cleveland’s Emma Flowers.
